Petit tour de Tristan / Tristan Tour

Aujourd’hui, je vous invite à faire un petit tour dans Edinburgh of the Seven Seas.
Partons de chez moi, le point rouge sur la photo. On descend vers la mer, en passant tout près de la maison de l’admin (le point bleu). On le voit pas sur la photo, mais je peux vous dire que le gazon est toujours tondu à l’anglaise, et que le drapeau de TdC flotte fièrement. L’océan est juste devant, derrière le long pré bien vert. En tournant à droite, on voit l’école (point vert), avec juste devant le terrain de foot, sans lignes et en pente, et qui sert plus à nourrir les vaches et à accueillir les hélicos qu’à jouer au foot. Si on remonte dos à la mer la petite route, on se retrouve sur la place du pub et du café (point violet). Juste à coté du café, c’est la piscine (point noir) qui va ouvrir surement ce week-end. On continue notre petit tour, et on voit à droite la poste (point vert clair) et l’administration building derrière (en bleu foncé). Tout au fond de la rue, c’est la factory, la conserverie de poisson et de homards. (en jaune). De là, on peut voir la station que je gère et l’hôpital au bout du village (point orange). Rajoutez le cimetière avec la tombe de Mr. Glass qui a décidé d’habiter ici, l’église catholique juste derrière chez moi et l’anglicane pas très loin du pub, et vous avez un bon aperçu de l’organisation du village !

What would you say about a small tout of Edinburgh of the Seven Seas today ?
Let’s start from my place, the Government guest house (red point). Start walking down in the direction of the coast. On your right, the residency, that is the house of the administrator. Not possible to see it on the picture of course, but believe me, the grass is pretty…well, pretty british! And the flag of Tristan is there to of course, always flying. Turn right, direction of the football field. Well, football field… a field, with two goals, no lines. And going down slighty to the ocean direction. Most of the time, it is used by cows or helicopters. But never know! In front of it, the school (green point). Let’s climb again, letting ocean on the back. We shortly reach the pub place, and the café is also pretty close (black point). Crossing the street, you reach the café and the swimming pool. If you continue walking to the west, you will see the post office on your right (light green point) and the Administration Building. (dark blue). In the same street, on the coast is the factory (yellow point), fishing lobster and local fishes.
From there, you will get a far but nice view on the hospital and on the station I am working in. (orange point). I you add the catholic church, close to my place, the Anglican one close to the pub, you have already a good overview about the village. Oh, also go and have a look at the cemetery (light blue), this is probably the nicest and most quiet cemetery I have ever seen my life! Quite different from the gloomy one we have in France!
